Door Controls Generation TS-C

New GfA Door Control Generation TS-C

The GfA door control generations TS-A () and TS-B () are being replaced. Built on proven features, practical experience, and new market requirements, the newly developed TS-C generation () has been created. The new generation fully covers the existing functional scope of its predecessors and expands it with new comfort features.

Five types will offer a tailored and requirement-oriented range in the future. For the first time, all door controls come with standard internet connectivity (IoT1)). Of course, the TS-C generation meets all current legal requirements and is already prepared for future regulatory developments2). The shared features of the new TS-C types are presented below, followed by a quick overview of the main differences.

1) Internet of Things   2) z.B. Anforderungen resultierend aus der neuen EU-Maschinenverordnung 2023/1230 mit Gültigkeit ab 20.01.2027

TS-C Quick overview5)

The quick overview shows differences, market launch periods, and the classification of the new TS-C types in relation to the predecessor models TS 959, TS 970, TS 971, and TS 981.

Connection options8)
Connection kits

The connection kits for the power supply of the TS-C are partly based on the existing TS-B products, while also incorporating some modifications. To simplify allocation for you, the entire TS-C portfolio will receive new item numbers. One significant difference from the TS-B types is that connection kits will no longer be delivered as a complete product with the door control unit, but must be ordered separately.10)

Connections cables

The DES, XES, and NES connecting cables between the door control unit and the drive correspond to the items from the TS-A and TS-B. The NES connecting cable will require an additional adapter in the future. The TS terminal connection set TS/clamp will also remain unchanged.

Door modules

The wireless WSD door module (2.4 GHz radio), which can be used with the door control units TS 95.25 and TS 96.25, remains unchanged. The wired door modules are new in that the control unit side now uses a 4-pin12) connector instead of two connectors.13) This results in new item numbers. The existing sensors for the door modules remain unchanged (optical sensors OSE, pneumatic sensors, safety edges, etc.).

Accessories

To make use of comfort functions, the door control units of the TS-C generation can continue to be equipped with additional switches and devices. For this purpose, the new DIF interface is partially used.

Communication

All TS-C units are equipped with Bluetooth and therefore offer, for example, the function of the well-known GfA-Stick for reading out the door controls. The TS-C units are also internet-capable, via WLAN or optionally through an integrated LTE/NB modem14). Using new apps, software updates (evodo - Sync) can be carried out in the future or settings can be configured (evodo - Toolkit). The apps are available as field-test prototypes in the respective stores and can be downloaded by clicking on the icons.

Example Functions

Below you will find several functions of the new TS-C types along with their parameterization points. Some functions will in the future only be selectable via the evodo Toolkit App (P ≥ 9.9).

The products can be found on our website in the Door controls section.

Notes

The functionality of the existing TS models is shown as of their market launch. New features (e.g., WLAN, weekly timer) will be gradually introduced via software updates. TS-C variants in XL or steel housings for additional devices are in planning, as well as versions for ATEX applications. Please note that as of the respective implementation dates, the previous TS-A and TS-B types will be replaced by the new TS-C types.
