Trusted reliability for Louvre Abu Dhabi security

 Louvre Abu Dhabi

GfA UK are proud to have been chosen to help secure one of the world’s newest and most original fine art museums. Due for completion in 2015, Louvre Abu Dhabi will be a cultural institution of global importance, housing priceless works of art from around the world.
International recognition and trust in GfA’s products was demonstrated from the outset of the project with tendering door companies required to use GfA drives in their solution.
Security is, of course, a top priority for the museum. The appointed door company is supplying SR4 security rated shutters throughout, in a variety of sizes up to 7m high by 8.2m wide.
These are tested against anti-jacking, prising, gouging, impact, cutting and drilling, and are consequently heavier than traditional shutters. Therefore many of the drives to be provided by GfA are from our 5,000Nm range.  We will supply just over 100 drives, split between Safedrive® motors and chain drives with safety brakes.
These were tested for quality, reliability and suitability as part of an intensive trial of the shutter solution within a working prototype of the Louvre building.
Each shutter is to be electrically operated and interfaced with the building control centre and security system, enabling full control over opening and closing sequences.
See you at R+T Stuttgart?
The leading world trade fair for roller shutters, doors and gates is just a few weeks away, (24th-28th February) and we hope to see many of our customers there.
In its 50th year, R+T will put a focus on, among other things, ‘the networked building’, providing insight into the topic of building control and automation.
R+T is well known for the many innovations and new products showcased there. Andrew Collett, Peter Whittles and Joe Ferrara will be joining the GfA group stand and hoping to have frank discussions with our customers and listen to your feedback. You will find the GfA stand in Hall 6, Stand 6, C41.
If you would like to attend, please contact Becky Laird at GfA UK for free entrance tickets. With these you will be able to arrive and access the event immediately with no need to register.
Taking safety, surveillance and auto door opening to the next level
Filters out pedestrians
Rejects parallel traffic
Easy and free shaping of detection
Automatic door opening is going to get a whole lot more efficient, secure and safe thanks to a brand new product from BEA.

With the prototype launched in Munich at BAU 2015 and product expected to hit the market late 2015, the new LZR® Widescan sensor uses laser technology for increased accuracy and control of door opening in industrial environments. The combination of 7 laser curtains in front of the door makes it possible to measure distances accurately and calculate the size and trajectory of an object meaning you can take full account of both moving and stationary pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The presence detection zones means reduced time lag in door opening and closing with subsequent energy saving benefits. The laser technology used minimises the impact of rain, snow, fog and reflecting surfaces on effective door operation.

With the ability to shape the detection zone (in three dimensions), reject parallel traffic and filter out pedestrians we believe this product offers some unique features and is an ideal replacement for induction loops, or for improved safety on existing doors.

The LZR® Widescan sensor will work seamlessly with GfA drives and controls. If you are visiting R&T in Stuttgart stop by BEA for a demonstration of this exciting new product at Hall 6 – stand D32.
